My name is Calvin Brandt and I am the face behind Cal's Custom Cuts. Creativity in the industrial arts has always been a passion of mine. I graduated from Iowa State University with a BA in Industrial Design. Cal's Custom Cuts is my way of branching back into my passion for working in the field. With many years of experience, I am excited to start this new journey of providing quality custom work for our community.
Cal's Custom Cuts uses the xTool S1 laser cutter with a 20W diode laser. The xTool S1 packs a powerful punch! This laser can slice through wood, opaque acrylic, leather, MDF, and so much more. Along with the cuttable materials, the engraving feature opens up an even larger selection of materials including glass, stainless steel, plated metal, and plastic. The base machine has a workable space of 19.6" W × 13" L x 5.25" H. Along with this base system, Cal's Custom Cuts also offers a conveyor system bringing the workable space from 13" L to 118" L.
The conveyor system is not the only addition that sets us apart from the rest. At Cal's Custom Cuts, we can engrave and cut cylindrical items like glassware, tumblers, rings, and bottles.
